GC Resources

Student Disability Services:

If you have a documented disability or are interested in learning more about student disability support services, please visit their website (https://www.gc.cuny.edu/student-disability-services) for more information. For those students with a documented disability, please be in contact with Clare Wilson at disabilityservices@gc.cuny.edu, and let me know as soon as possible so that I can respond to requests for accommodation in a timely way.

GC Writing Center

The GC Writing Center is available to students to help at all stages of the writing process. You can set up an individual appointment for a consultation, attend a workshop, or use their online resources.

Wellness Center

The mission of The Wellness Center is to support the physical and mental health of students at the Graduate Center through its two divisions:

  • Student Counseling Services, which provides individual and group counseling, workshops, referrals, and other mental health support services.
  • Student Health Services, which offers educational information and resources on a variety of physical health topics, and provides referral information for external health service providers

You can contact the Wellness Center directly at wellness@gc.cuny.edu.

CUNY Health and Wellness Services

Students at the Graduate Center can also access CUNY-wide health and wellness services through the CUNY website.

GC International Students Office

The Office of International Students provides advice and assistance to students from outside the United States, particularly addressing immigration issues relating to F-1 Student Status and J-1 Exchange Visitor Student category.

The office also assists students in understanding American cultural behavior and in interpreting various bureaucratic procedural requirements, including nonresident alien taxation. Every fall, the office conducts an orientation session for international students. Use the link above to find out more on their website.

CUNY Office of International Students

CUNY also has an office that serves the needs of international students. That site includes a handbook and other resources.

Mina Rees Library

In addition to being the on-site library that serves The Graduate Center, the Mina Rees Library frequently holds workshops for students on topics such as managing resource materials, evaluating open access publications, and more. You can attend their open help desk hours to ask for help, use the online Ask a Librarian service, or reach out to the DH and Data Viz program subject librarian and Digital Scholarship Librarian Stephen Zweibel at szweibel@gc.cuny.edu.

GC Digital Initiatives

GC Digital Initiatives is a point of contact for those who are interested in improving their digital skills, creating digital scholarship projects, or who would like resources for developing alternative academic capstone and dissertation projects. Find out information about workshops on the calendar, or discover how to connect to interest groups on the Participate page.
